My brother's Biographia biography

Welcome to Biographia

A Life in Print

Everyone has a story to tell. Few have the chance to see it in print. If you would like to see a loved one's life story told through the eyes of family and friends, Biographia can help you achieve this. A lavishly illustrated, hard back, finely written, coffee table biography with plenty of humour could be just the anniversary present you're looking for.

My brother, pictured, now has his own Biographia biography, a present from his family on his 60th birthday. We hope we can now give you and your families the same opportunity to produce and then treasure a high quality, permanent account of a loved one's life.

Why Biographia?

Why choose

Biographia?

Biographia is a small, family run company whose philosophy is underpinned by the enduring values of two members no longer with us: a father who died too young but who nonetheless left behind a memoir to remember him by; also a brother who again died far too early but sadly without any permanent account of his life.

We feel the best approach for an outstanding biography is to ask family and friends to tell their favourite stories about the people they love. The narrative - up to 96 pages with Biographia - will ideally then capture the essence of those people, the strengths and qualities that make them special, but perhaps sometimes also some of the vulnerabilities that make them lovable. None of these stories behind the men and women we value should be allowed to fade, as is sadly so often the case.

Our father’s memoir tells the story of a war hero and giant of a man whose life was chronicled by his brother only two years before he died at the age of 62. It starts: "How to catch his shifting genius?"

He won two Military Crosses during World War Two, one for standing on his tank to direct artillery fire while under enemy fire, the other for general gallantry. Shortly before he died, he said he should have died with Monty in the desert, therefore his extra 40 or so years of living had been a bonus. From his hospital bed, he asked me to amend some complimentary passages in the memoir his brother had fortunately written about him. He said he didn't merit them. I never did amend them. He deserved every one of them. I'm so glad my uncle wrote that book.
